Forest Park Hospital TenetCare Marks First Year Anniversary With High Ratings

February 14 marked the one-year anniversary of the opening of the TenetCare outpatient diagnostic facility at Forest Park Hospital. So, how did the first year of operations go? According to Jeff Dossett, director of TenetCare at FPH, things have been going wonderfully. "We have exceeded pro forma and patient expectations," Dossett said. One thing that has contributed to the success of TenetCare is how it looks. With an inviting interior that's warm, calming and comfortable, guests are offered a non-clinical and relaxing environment. "Patients are extremely pleased with the appearance of the facility," Dossett said. TenetCare visitors also enjoy amenities such as terry cloth robes and slippers, private men's and women's lounges, a children's play area, in-room audio centers, a technology center with Internet access, a personal pager that alerts them when their service specialist is ready for them, and more.
But Dossett gives the lion's share of the credit to the TenetCare employees' commitment to service excellence. "Patients are equally impressed with the care they receive while at TenetCare. In the first quarter of fiscal year 2003, TenetCare received a 5-Star score and we expect to continue this trend," he said. The 5-Star ranking means TenetCare received an overall score of 90.00 or above on the Tenet Patient Satisfaction Measurement System (PSMS) (percentage reflects those responding 9 or 10, on a 10-point scale, to survey questions).
The most highly utilized services at TenetCare so far have been CT, radiology and mammography. But according to Dossett, all the service areas have exceeded all growth expectations.
What's next for TenetCare at FPH? "We are in the process of planning the installation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment," said Dossett. The anticipated date for completion is late summer of 2003.
And, of course, they plan to continue the excellent standards of care that are already in place. "TenetCare is about treating others as we would like to be treated," said Dossett. "We will always strive to do our best and exceed patient, physician and employee expectations."
