Forest Park Hospital has adopted a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chronic wounds. In the near future, hyperbaric oxygen treatment will be added to the current medical and surgical modalities.

Specialized services to treat chronic wounds may be effective in facilitating the healing process.

Hyperbaric oxygen is now being used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of a variety of clinical conditions, including:

• Non-healing ischemic wounds
• Refractory osteomyelitis
• Radiation soft tissue injury
• Hyperbaric oxygen treatment is the primary therapy for emergency conditions such as arterial gas embolisms and carbon monoxide poisoning.
